NEPAL FLOODING DISASTER – EMERGENCY AID DISTRIBUTION
Our friends in Nepal were able to make the return journey to the area that they visited last week and distribute aid to the needy families. This is their report –
“As we had planned, today we were able to carry out relief distribution in two different places. At the first location, we distributed mattresses, blankets, pillows, and mosquito nets. According to the information we had received, many of the elderly people were finding it very difficult to sleep because they had lost or damaged their bedding. They were therefore very happy and thankful to receive these relief items.
Because the road was blocked, we had to distribute the items along the roadside. More than 50 people were already waiting in line. However, we distributed only according to the name list we had received, as it was not possible for us to provide relief to everyone who came. It was a great privilege for us to serve people in such a difficult situation.
We were then able to travel to the other area to distribute the relief materials that we had to leave behind the other day, to the families concerned. There is also another location where around 35 families are in need of help. We have been in contact with people there and are trying to understand their most urgent needs. We hope to reach them with some basic relief as soon as possible.
The people here are truly suffering because of this disaster. The devastation and misery we have witnessed are heartbreaking. Anyone who sees the situation with their own eyes could easily be moved to tears.
We are deeply grateful for your prayers and support. Please continue to pray for the affected families and for us as we seek opportunities to serve them and show them the love of Christ at this difficult time.”
