BCFC ACADEMY - NEW TERM
Monday 5th May sees the start of the 2nd term in the Academy. We have had some changes amongst the teachers and support staff and also in the Nursery School in the outlying BCFC Churches. This is a very important term academically and we value prayer that staff and students will quickly settle in and get down to serious work and that the students will report on time. Pray not only for Academic progress but for spiritual fruit this term. Last term we did not hear of anyone coming to Christ so pray for a softening of hearts amongst the students and a genuine seeking of the Lord for salvation.

MISSION PRAYER REQUEST - APRIL 2014
PRAY FOR PERTH
Thank you for all your prayers for us during these months of settling into the work in Perth.

The services have been well attended with approximately 30 in attendance in the morning services. We have been encouraged by faithful band of people who faithfully attend all the Sabbath services and the church prayer meetings. There have been some visitors into the meetings including some unsaved. We pray that the entrance of the Lord’s Word would bring light into darkened hearts.

Prayer requests
- Salvation of unsaved that have been in attendance
- The bringing of local people into the services and children into the children’s meeting
- The raising up of men who will be able to hold office in days to come
- New areas of witness for the congregation

EBOLA SPREADS TO LIBERIA
You may have heard on the news of an outbreak of Ebola hemorrhagic fever here in West Africa. It started a couple of weeks ago in Guinea (a country that borders Liberia to the northwest), and upwards of 80 people have died there so far. Sadly, it has now crossed into Liberia, and from a report tonight I heard that there are now 11 confirmed cases here in Liberia. Ebola originates in animals, possibly the fruit bat, and then is spread to people through the eating of contaminated meat. Person to person transmission is possible only through the body fluids of an infected person once he/she begins to show symptoms. There is no known cure for Ebola, and the mortality rate is high at up to 90%.

We would ask for prayer for the following:
- that the Lord would give protection for us missionaries and for our church people (who are at a much higher risk than us, due to taking public transportation, living in crowded communities etc).
- that the government and health officials would have wisdom in how to deal with and control the outbreak.
- that the general public would not panic, but would listen and follow the advice given in order to effectively isolate known cases and prevent further transmission of the disease.
- that this situation would be used for the glory of God, and that as people are faced with their own mortality, they would turn to the Lord.
