...striving together for the faith of the gospel
PRAY
ORDINATION & INSTALLATION SERVICE
Greetings from South Australia. As many of you are aware, when our family initially came out to Australia it was for an intended three year period after which I would return to Ulster, however at the start of October the congregations in Lock and Port Lincoln met to issue a call to me to be their minister. The Lord gave us a heart for the works here before we had arrived and that has only intensified during the time that we have spent here and therefore I have gratefully accepted that call.

Everything having been approved by our Mission Board and Presbytery and therefore this Sunday (5th November) I am to be ordained and installed as the minister of both congregations.

Please pray for the services as the congregations come together on the Lord’s Day, ultimately that the Lord’s word would be preached with power, producing fruit in lives, and that the Lord would bless the work in the days ahead and enable me to be a faithful minister of the gospel.

In practice many things will be the same, as I have been serving in the role of a minister for the last year and a half but it is significant for the Lord to have placed us in the work by His call.

It will also be a significant time for Australia in general as all four of our congregations (Kingston, Lock, Perth and Port Lincoln) will have men particularly called to the respective works.

I still need to secure another visa enabling our family to remain in Australia beyond next April and therefore I would ask you to pray to that end. As things have tightened up since our arrival here, this is a little more complicated than when we first came out. However, so far, the indications are good and we trust that if it pleases the Lord, He will open the door.

Thank you again for your continued, and much needed prayers for us.
