Having been born into a home where I was taught the gospel I came to faith in Christ as a five year old boy. During a family devotional time before going to bed, the Lord opened my eyes to my personal need of a saviour and I called upon Christ that night in bed.
I was brought up in Presbyterian and Methodist churches before I came into contact with the Free Presbyterian Church as a young teenager through the youth fellowship work in our Lisburn congregation. Over the next few years I gradually came to appreciate the faithful stand of Free Presbyterianism and joined the Lisburn congregation as a member.
Around 2008, during my second year studying at Queens University Belfast, the Lord called me into full time service and so I began to make preparation to attend the Whitefield College of the Bible where I commenced study in 2011.
Coming to the end of my studies, the Lord began to burden me for the work in South Australia, and has particularly challenged me with the words of the Great Commission: “…All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…” (Matthew 28:18-19).
Dependent upon the approval of a Visa, our intention is to travel to the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia around May of 2016 to minister for three years. The congregations in Port Lincoln and Lock are relatively small and yet the Great Commission serves as a reminder that the Lord cares no less for those congregations, than for any in Ulster.
It is our prayer as we go that the Lord will build his church in South Australia through our ministry, that the lost will be saved, and that His people will “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
